Illegal Logging Prohibition Regulation 2012 Sunset Review

Abstract

This submission addresses several of the questions raised by the sunset review request for feedback. This review is an important opportunity to recognise and reflect on the importance of the Illegal Logging Prohibition Regulation 2012 (‘Regulation’) and associated Illegal Logging Prohibition Act 2012 (‘Act’). These laws are a central component of the transnational effort to end illegal logging and protect vital forest ecosystems and the communities that depend on them to survive and thrive.
