Abstract

The famous Wittgenstein rules paradox provides important insights for AI and the law. Essentially, the paradox entails the confounding aspect that “any course of action can be made out to accord with the rule” (as further explained herein). Those developing and using AI systems that pertain to the practice of law need to take into account this notable paradox.
