Abstract
This paper contains the nature of the Directive Principles of the State/Social Policy, their schematic approach under Indian and Irish Constitution, thoughts of the framers of the constitutions, contrast, and comparison of the principles in both the constitutions and Court’s take on these principles in both the territories. The subject matter i.e. “Directive Principles or Socio-Economic Rights” is of huge importance and is one of pillar for the state’s welfare; however, it can be considered as a narrow and precise subject with limited legal material on it.
