Abstract
Some industrial by-products have emerged as eco-friendly alternatives to ordinary Portland cement in order to reduce the environmental impacts. In this paper, the pozzolanic activity and chemical excitation assay of sludge incineration ash (SIA), which is a kind of residual ash from lake and river sludge after incineration, were experimental studied, and the performances of pervious ecological brick prepared from SIA as a raw bonding material were investigated. The pozzolanic activity experimental results showed that the activity index of SIA was similar to FA, and it can be used as auxiliary cementing material instead of part of cement in concrete. The hydration process of incineration ash in cement-SIA composite cementitious system can be promoted by chemical activators such as NaOH, Na 2 SO 4 , Na 2 SiO 3 and NaAlO 2 . The pervious ecological brick was prepared with cement-SIA composite bonding materials activated by optimal combination chemical exactors and 6% silica ash. The performances of that such as splitting strength, permeability, frozen resistance, water holding capacity, can be meet to the requirements of engineering application.
