A Bibliometric Review of Mobile Banking Adoption Literature

Abstract
Changes in habits of consumers from offline to online, researchers' attention to mobile banking literature have grown in the previous decade. The article conducted a bibliometric analysis of the existing literature on mobile banking adoption. The dimensions database was used to gather the data for the investigation. All publications having the term "mobile banking adoption" in the title or abstract were included in the search query. This search was performed up to 10 December 2021, and the results included 180 documents spanning the years 2005 to 2021, including 146 articles, 16 proceedings, 10 chapters, and 8 preprints. This paper includes publication output and growth trend, authors’ analysis, sources’ analysis, countries’ analysis, word cloud, top-cited articles review which describe the prominent author, source, country, and the methodology or theory used in articles, which will guide the researchers. Biblioshiny, a web-based application contained in the Bibliometrix R-package, was used to evaluate the data in this study. It concludes that the Asian and European regions dominate the mobile banking adoption literature. India leads in terms of volume of publications whereas Finland is the second place but Finland ranks first in the number of citations. The research gives a clear picture of the field of mobile banking adoption.
