Abstract
Anammox is one of the most promising denitrification processes, but the slow growth rate of AnAOB limits its application. This paper focused on the start-up time, influent fluctuation, specific activity, and enzyme activity of AnAOB under the strategy of negative pressure coupled with direct current field. The results show that the NRR was stable at 88.6% after seven days, the relative abundance of Candidatus_Kuenenia increased from 52.0% to 57.6% by the novel operation strategy. In the face of transient and long-term influent fluctuation, the system had more robust resistance to shock load, and the specific activity of AnAOB to ammonia was stable at 4.1 mgN/gVss∙h. In addition, the specific activities of HDH and HZS under the novel operation strategy were much higher than those under normal operating conditions. These results indicate that the novel operation strategy has specific feasibility and potential for the start-up and long-term operation of Anammox.
