Abstract

A review of basic concept of slow light technology and its related performance parameters is carried out. The various techniques used to obtain the slow light are studied. We then present a general comparison of the methods used to obtain optimized slow light using photonic crystal waveguide (PCW). Finally a more focus is given on survey of variation in the shape of the holes in PCW structure and its effect on performance parameters .
