Abstract
To investigate the influence of varying loads on the structural response, a method is proposed for separating the measured responses of structures based on variational modal decomposition. The boundary frequencies of the gradually varying temperature response and transient wind load response components were determined and a constrained variational model based on the sum of the estimated bandwidths was established. We used the alternating direction multiplier method to solve the eigenmode function corresponding to the minimization of the variational model, realizing the synchronous and non-linear separation of the structural temperature effect and the structural transient load effect in the measured response was. Using the measured stress of the large shell structure of the Zhuhai Grand Theater under the impact of the typhoon effect as an example, the feasibility and effectiveness of the method were verified.
