Abstract
Al-0.075In-0.5Mg-0.04Sn-xCe [x = 0~0.2% (mass fraction)] alloy as anode material for aluminum air battery was melted and prepared. Its electrochemical performance were analysed and studied in 4mol/LNaOH solution by the polarization curve (Tafel), electrochemical impedance (EIS), self-corrosion rate, discharge performance and so on. After discharge, the element composition and the surface microtopography of alloy were tested via wavelength dispersive spectroscopy(WDS) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) of EPMA. The results illustrated that adding appropriate amount of Ce to the alloy can reduce the self-corrosion rate and improve its electrochemical performance, and the comprehensive performance of Al-0.075In-0.5Mg-0.04Sn-0.14Ce anode is the best.
