Abstract

Taking advantage of a rational designed ligand (BPCH = 2,6-bis(4-pyridyl methylidene)cyclohexanone) and three auxiliary acid ligands (H 2 TP = terephthalic acid, H 2 IP = isophthalic acid, H 3 TMA = 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylic acid), seven metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) 1-7 have been achieved and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, IR spectra, PXRD and TGA. Varied three-dimensional (3D) or two-dimensional (2D) structural characters have been observed by using this acid-base mixed-ligand synthetic strategy. The fluorescence properties of MOFs 1-7 have been explored, indicating that they have great selectivity towards Fe 3+ ion. Additionally, several complexes have shown certain performance for scavenging dye molecules and N 2 gas sorption.
