Abstract
The exploration of high-performance room temperature sensors for trace NO 2 detection is of great importance for the Internet of Things based environmental monitoring. In this work, we report a novel NO 2 gas sensor based on tin selenide (SnSe) nanosheet arrays films that were deposited on a variety of substrates by vacuum thermal evaporation technology. The nanosheets have thickness of about 10 nm and lateral sizes about 0.2 ~ 1 μm, and form well oriented arrays. The synthesis of the films were well controlled and the performance of the NO 2 gas sensors was tuned by adjusting the microstructure of the films. The gas sensors show high response with the NO 2 concertation of 100 - 300 ppb, it can achieve response of 155 % towards 300 ppb concentration of NO 2 at room temperature, and the gas sensing performance can be affected by film thickness and microstructure. At high NO 2 gas concentration of 10 ppm, a response time of 12 s and response of 700 % at room temperature was achieved. Besides, the high selectivity and good repeatability of the SnSe nanosheet arrays film gas sensor were testified, too. The NO 2 gas sensor reported here has promising applications because of the facile fabrication and high performance.
