Abstract

Artificial intelligence (“AI”) impacts the practice of law. However, discussions about the impact of AI are often focused on litigation practices. This article will discuss how AI influences transactional practices, including corporate, trust and estate, and real estate (to name a few). This article will discuss the intersection of AI and transactional work in three ways. First, this article will discuss transactional AI and provide two dozen examples of transactional AI tools. Second, this article will describe how transactional AI tools can assist transactional attorneys in accomplishing efficiency and scale in their billable and pro bono work. Finally, this article will detail how law schools can prepare students to use transactional AI tools, including in first-year courses, such as legal writing courses, and upper-level courses, such as transactional clinics.
