Abstract

Law reviews have yet to adopt the practice of attaching persistent identifiers to their online publications, leaving them particularly susceptible to link/reference rot. This article discusses the implementation of Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) and makes a plea to law review societies, law librarians, and legal publishers to adopt this basic digital preservation practice, which is ubiquitous in almost every other academic discipline.

Keywords: DOI, digital preservation, link rot, Digital Object Identifier, law reviews, legal academy
