Abstract

MnBi2Te4 is a versatile material with different topological and magnetic phases depending upon the number of layers of the sample under consideration. We present the study on MnBi2Te4 thin films deposited on STO substrates using Pulsed laser deposition for the first time. Samples of two different thicknesses with 30 and 35 septuple layers were deposited that showed a ferromagnetic phase. The magnetoresistance (MR) of the relatively thinner sample becomes positive for higher temperature whereas for the thicker sample, remains negative for all measured temperatures. The magnetic and the Hall effect measurement show that the films are in ferromagnetic phase.
