Abstract
To resolve the reliability and magnetic properties requirements of Surface Mounted Devices(SMD), the high-performance amorphous and nanocrystalline powders were prepared by the gas-water two-phase coupled rapid-setting sedimentation atomization technology(WGC), and compared it with the amorphous and nanocrystalline powders prepared by the traditional water-gas combined atomization technology(W-G). The result shown that the morphology of the amorphous and nanocrystalline powders prepared by WGC device more better. Not only the defects such as burrs and protrusions on the surface of powder particles were removed, but also the formed powder were almost completely spherical. Through XRD, TEM, DSC and VSM analysis, it was concluded that the amorphous and nanocrystalline raw powder developed by WGC device have higher amorphousness and magnetic properties. It can be inferred that the newly developed WGC device has higher cooling capacity in the preparation of amorphous and nanocrystalline powders, and is more suitable for the commercial production of amorphous and nanocrystalline powders. Then the magnetic properties of the powder were further evaluated by prepared into the powder core. It is revealed that the powder developed by WGC device with higher permeability, and can achieve similar DC bias characteristic under the condition of higher permeability, and have lower core loss. These advantages of magnetic properties were pursued by SMD.
