Abstract

The present investigation was carried out to identify the main environmental problems that prevail in the Tepetitán, San Vicente, El Salvador community. The action-participatory research methodology was used. The results reflected that the main environmental problems were focused on the lack of solid waste management, the burning that takes place in cane fields during the harvest stage, and the use of synthetic chemical products to manage the phytosanitary problems of crops. These issues were the basis for decision-makers at the planning and environmental management levels.
