Abstract

Do we need change the ethical and moral character of people to build a better society… My answer is no, people will always have as a foundation attitude … I want what is best for me … which means all the nastiest aspects of people are always a potential. To build a secure, better society we must bring that fully to account.

This paper argues two crucial aspects to managing a free society. (1) Understanding human nature. (2) Defining and directing of every ‘enterprise’ (understood in its broadest sense, see the details).

Governance if the term applied to those responsible for directing an enterprise and expected to be capable, powerful, and highly rewarded. The fiduciary duty of every enterprise to society is defined in the corporate social responsibility (CSR) policy of the enterprise. Governance can be bought quickly to account for failure to meet the CSR Policy, or in meeting it, the corruption evident was beyond that ‘acceptable’.

To start building better functioning free societies, the recommendation is to bring all intellectual institutions to account for their role as keepers of the quality of thinking.

Keywords: better society, social development, human nature in society
