Abstract
With the increasing demand for ultrahigh speed and low transmission delay in microelectronics, polymer film with tailored dielectric property and large electrical displacement are put forward the advanced applications of polymer dielectrics. In this work, the low-k polyimide (PI) nanocomposite incorporated with metal-organic framework hollow ZIF-8 (HZIF-8) nanocrystals was developed to achieve high energy storage capability. PI nanocomposite film was prepared by solution casting of HZIF8/polyamide acid (PAA) mixture with accompanied thermal imidation. The dielectric constant of 2.26 at 100 Hz is obtained in 5 wt% nanocomposite film due to multistage pore architecture. Concurrently, based on the improved interfacial polarization, 1 wt% nanocomposite illustrates high energy density of 12.2 J/cm3 with charge-discharge efficiency of 70% at 600 MV/m. The received PI nanocomposite film demonstrates inherent mechanical property and dielectric reliability, which is expected as one of primary candidates for polymer dielectrics in microelectronics.
