Abstract
In recent times, European legal systems have increasingly been confronted with attempts to counter human rights violations in global supply chains by means of compensation law. On the one hand, this takes place at the legislative level, and on the other hand, through media-effective proceedings in which injured parties assert claims for compensation before European courts. Against this background, this article outlines the challenges faced by such attempts and subsequently examines whether, and on what basis, liability under Austrian law can be considered.
