Abstract

This essay reviews recent developments related to economic integration after Covid-19, including European Union's trade agreements in Australasia amidst new global geopolitical risks, and European integration and foreign direct investment after Covid-19. The essay concludes that in a post-Covid-19 world, economic integration will continue to be a productive path to increasing prosperity and wellbeing, but will have to be balanced with security and environmental concerns, and it may have to be accompanied by geopolitical hedging and strategic diversification both at the national and corporate levels.
