Abstract

The evolution of Law and Economics can be seen as a process of mutual discovery of the other discipline. The era of strong normative Law and Economics, based on monolithic conceptions of each discipline, is over. As it moved away from neo-classicism, micro-economics became more inclined to acknowledge the full richness and vitality of law and legal scholarship. Law and Economics can now be deployed against a background of legal pluralism and multivalence, as a precious tool to better understand the workings and consequences of the various legal options on offer in any given situation.
