Abstract

This chapter surveys different models for how citizenship tests are run. These include the United States, Australia, the European model and the United Kingdom. Each has contrasting expectations for new citizens and how they are assessed. After surveying the different models, the chapter will conclude with some general observations about how tests for citizenship should be administered.
