Abstract

Nowadays, metal bone implants are faced with many key technical and scientific problems in medical bioengineering, such as stress shielding, poor bone integration ability, low interface binding force between metal implants and bone tissue, it is easy to result in poor fatigue and permeability characteristics. To solve these problems, the self-designed bionic porous structure was introduced in the design of bone implant, it can get appropriate aperture distribution and porosity to ensure its fatigue and permeability characteristics match the human natural bone. In the process of structural design, the distance-density mapping theory was introduced to control the aperture distribution, then the fatigue characteristics were analyzed by mechanical simulation and fatigue experiment, the permeability characteristics were analyzed by fluid simulation and cell experiment. The result shows that fatigue and permeability characteristics meet the natural bone implant criteria by controlling the porosity and irregularity. Finally, the mathematical relationship between fatigue performance and the two parameters of porosity and irregularity was presented, it can effectively predict the fatigue characteristics of the model and improve its application in natural bone.
