Abstract

As global price hike of conventional fuel has taken place, there requires a feasible solution to the usage and dependency of expensive conventional fuels and hence following the IMO resolutions, extensive research has been conducted and the research aims to create a comparative analysis between LPG and conventional marine fuels and see whether LPG can be used as an alternative fuel for the marine engines in Bangladesh effectively. An experiment is conducted and from there it has been observed that LPG gives better performance than Diesel, and it is more cost-efficient with the data of market predictions collected from a renowned engine importer from Bangladesh. To carry out the research, the study of different research papers on LPG as a fuel used in different methods were thoroughly conducted, besides which the experimental analysis was done too to back the statements where LPG is used as a part of a dual-fuel system along with Diesel. The objective of the study was to check the possibility of LPG as a Marine Fuel in different aspects of the Marine Sector of Bangladesh.
