Abstract
The carbon-encapsulated Co-Cu alloy nanoparticles (Co-Cu@C) with core-shell structure can improve the dispersion of metal alloy nanoparticles and show its physicochemical properties. The conventient and low-cost preparation method of Co-Cu@C is very attractive to study. Co-Cu@C was prepared by a gas explosion method, and the EM wave absorption properties was studied. The characterization results show that Co-Cu alloy core was coated by carbon shell, and the Co-Cu@C would decompose into Co@C and Cu@C after heat treatment with 700 °C. The reflection loss value of orignal Co-Cu@C is -4.3 dB, and it could be increased by 44% after heat treatment. The magnetic properties of Co-Cu@C increased distinctly by 2.4 times. One of the important reasons for the improvement of magnetic properties and EM wave absorbing performance is the increase of cobalt phase proportion after heat treatment.
