Abstract

With the global warming and energy crisis becoming increasingly serious, energy conservation and emission reduction have become an important theme of the development in manufacturing industry. Energy Management System (EMS) is widely used to monitor and control energy consumption in the production. However, the traditional chart-based energy consumption display board limits the interaction between human and workshop. Virtual Reality (VR) technology and Augmented Reality (AR) technology with its strong immersion and interaction provide a new way for the visualization of energy consumption. In particular, the wireless, low latency, high bandwidth characteristics of 5G network make it possible for the on-site energy monitoring in real time. This paper proposes an energy management training method with VR/AR interface to cultivate students ' knowledge of big data processing, 5G information communication and data visualization. Students can monitor workshop energy consumption in real time and carry out simulation experiments of energy consumption in VR environment. Students can also wear AR glasses to monitor the energy consumption of the workshop in real time. The learning factory design and training method are introduced in detail.
