Abstract

There are several types of registry systems available around the world such as Cancer Registry, Disease Registry, Rare Disease Registry, Special Registry and so on. The main key difference between a Cancer Registry and other registries is in terms of the time duration, treatment process, and its different variants. Cancer is an internecine disease caused by the uncontrollable growth of cells which spreads to the other parts of the body. There are a lot of variants of cancer invented and some of them are extremely severe and untreatable. Almost all developing nations must maintain high-quality patient registries in order to enhance care and research since there is a dearth of information about illnesses and their treatment. However, not all of those nations have access to a comprehensive and effective cancer registry. Furthermore, for accurate diagnoses and treatments a central cancer registry and research compiling demographics, diagnoses, histology, treatment, and outcomes are needed, specially for developing countries. For this reason, in this study, we present a rigorous review of recent research on different types of clinical and cancer registry systems. Based on the review, we propose a Cancer Registry Ecosystem having three components - Cancer Card, Cancer Registry Interface, and Cancer Cloud Database. Moreover, we develop a small prototype to find out the necessary features of the registry system to ease the communication and treatment of the marginalized patients, doctors, and researchers.
