Abstract
When I say, “some sources are pure”, I mean “some sources of legal validity are legal simply and strictly so called”. The purpose of this essay is to explain what this means. The essay discusses legal positivism and references the ideas of H. L. A. Hart, Ronald Dworkin, John Austin, and Hans Kelsen.
