Abstract

Safety analysis is an important part of China Fusion Engineering Test Reactor (CFETR) design. The blanket is the core component of the fusion reactor. The helium cooling system (HCS) for blankets is the main energy exchange system, and the tritium extraction system (TES) is an important part of the fuel system in CFETR. The preliminary design of CFETR was completed in 2020. This paper presents an important design basis accident (In-box loss of coolant accident (LOCA)) analysis results in the blanket and gives the optimization ideas for HCS and TES design. The accident analysis and optimization method can provide a reference for the iterative design.

Keywords: CFETR, accident analysis, tritium extraction system, In-box LOCA
