Abstract

ZnO nanoparticles were modified with isocyanate propyl triethoxysilane (IPTS) to obtain IZnO, which was then compounded with chitosan (CS) condensed cinnamaldehyde (CA) Schiff base (SCSB) to obtain functional nanocomposites IZnO-SCSB. FT-IR and XRD were used to characterize the structure of IZnO-SCSB with different compounding ratios. The results showed that SCSB was successfully synthesized and there was hydrogen bonding between SCSB and I-ZnO, and the incorporation of SCSB changed the original arrangement of the I-ZnO molecular chain. The incorporation of I-ZnO improved the thermal properties of SCSB in the samples. Combined with the three antimicrobial tests showed that 4IZnO-1SCSB has good dispersibility and the best synergistic antimicrobial effect.
