School in search of development: goals and models

Abstract

This report focuses on the goal-setting of schools, the questions that schools answer in the process of self-determination, the formation of their purpose, main idea and model. In the report, we summarize theoretical approaches and concepts that will help schools in the process of self-determination. In addition, we offer several general models based on development and transformation projects developed jointly with schools in the “Next Step for Schools” educational programs, as well as on other cases of Russian and foreign schools. Our report is intended for school leaders, transformational and instructional designers who have a request for strategic change, and for anyone who has an interest and desire to understand aspects of modern school education.
