Abstract

How can the Thomistic concept of "ius" inform contemporary legal philosophy? This paper, presented at a conference on the topic at the Pontifical Universities of Sante Croce and St. Thomas Aquinas, helps introduce the reader to Thomistic juridical realism by explaining how that approach can illuminate basic questions in tort doctrine, private law theory, and general jurisprudence.
