Abstract

An Economic Analysis of Freebies Freebies are defined as public welfare measures provided free of charge (RBI Bulletin, 2022). Though not synonymous, freebies and Socio-economic welfare programmes are used as synonymous depending on the situation, circumstances and individual. All Freebies are not socio-economic welfare programmes, but all socioeconomic welfare programmes by the government are generally provided free. There is a thin line between social and economic welfare programmes and freebies.
