Abstract

The fire characteristics and suppression of valve hall (VH) of UHV converter station are studied based on the numerical methods in this paper. The full-size valve hall of UHV converter station geometric model and fire model was built. The fire spread process characteristics was analyzed, it’ shown that the numerous of ignited valve tower (VT) has the square relation with burning time, and a fire spread predicate model was put forward. The temperature characteristics of VT is studied, the temperature tend to steady when the merged flame is formed. The temperature distribution on VH is discussed, there are three characteristic temperature regions for VH. The suppression performance of high boiling point agent and suppression mechanism was analyzed, and preferable parameters is determined.
