Abstract
This report used data from the National Registry Exonerations to complete the first study that compares the findings of the FBI review of microscopic hair comparison evidence to evidence given by state and local experts. This report is also the first analysis of microscopic hair comparison evidence in all known exoneration cases in the United States (as opposed to only DNA exoneration cases).
