Abstract
The integration of theory and practice poses a significant challenge in higher education especially in the field of business education. Quite a number of students face difficulties in connecting theoretical concepts taught in class with their practical application in real life situations. This disconnection hampers students' acquisition of the essential skills and competencies needed for successful careers in business. Consequently, there is a clear necessity to investigate effective strategies that can bridge the gap between theory and practice ultimately improving students' learning experiences within the context of masters’ level education in the UK. The aim of this study is to examine this matter by assessing the efficacy of business simulator software as a viable measure to connect theory and practice. This software enables students to practically apply their theoretical knowledge in business simulations thereby cultivating essential skills for their future professional careers. The chosen sample, utilizing purposive sampling technique, includes fifteen (15) students at the master's level. These students actively took part in a four-month simulation using the Edumundo software, which formed a crucial component of their Masters level curriculum. The findings show different perspectives of the students highlighting on both the strengths and limitations of Edumundo as an educational tool. It has been discovered that this software provides realistic and engaging simulations that enable students to put their theoretical knowledge to practical use. It is important to note that there are also challenges associated with its usage, such as technical difficulties and a requirement for more comprehensive guidance.
