Abstract

Social media provides two way avenues through which people can share, exchange information and manage content generated by the social media users. On the other hand information literacy (IL) is a set of abilities which can be acquired through an instructional programme. The success of IL programm relies upon the delivery of content, social networks can be a useful delivery vehicle in imparting information literacy. Information Literacy pedagogical approaches are continuously evolving as a result of rapidly changing information landscape and information environment. The question this study intends to answer is how different social networks can be useful in imparting information literacy programmes to the library users.
