Abstract

Highlights• Totoaba macdonaldi exhibited a significant increase in feeding behavior at ZT-8 (corresponding to 16:00 h) under commercial feeding procedures.• The gene expression and enzymatic activity of the digestive enzymes analyzed showed a significant rhythmic pattern during a 24 h cycle.• One of the first works showing the rhythmicity in the enzymatic activity found in the pyloric caeca of a marine fish.
