Abstract

Recent years have seen heightened safety concerns at urban pedestrian crossings due to interactions among pedestrians, vehicles, and bikes/electric bikes, especially in regions with high bike ownership like the Netherlands, Germany, and China. This study presents a hybrid traffic simulation model that accurately captures the complex dynamics between these entities, marking a significant step forward in traffic simulation and management solutions. The research outcome proves that the proposed model is able to accurately simulate the movements of traffic participants, offering a solid theoretical foundation and practical guidance for enhancing traffic management and mitigating conflicts in urban settings.
