Madarsatul Uloom ka Shiraz Wafd: Teen Safarnamay

Abstract

A delegation was sent by the Madarsatul Uloom, Aligarh (now Aligarh Muslim University) to Shiraz, Iran in 1903 for inviting boarders to the college for admission. It was headed by Meer Wilayat Hussain. There are two published travelogues of this delegation written by Meer Wilayat Hussain and Syed Jalaluddin Haider. There is an unknown travelogue written by Haider which was published as a series in a magazine in 1914. This paper analyses these travelogues are tries to understand reasons for sending the delegation to Iran.
