Abstract
The banknotes of Iran have gained international recognition among philatelists and paper money collectors for their diverse range of designs. Nevertheless, while guaranteed and cash checks served as prevalent high-denomination paper currency in the country during the 2000s, scant documentation of these checks is available in existing references. This article aims to address this knowledge gap by examining checks issued by Bank Melli Iran (the National Bank) using observed specimens from private collections. Additionally, the study unveils more than 75 denominations, types, and subtypes of these notes, presenting them in a systematic typological classification for enhanced comprehensiveness and organization.
