Abstract
The escalating issue of air pollution underscores the importance of developing high-performance NO2 gas sensors. This study reports a real time NO2 gas sensor made from composite nanofibers featuring vertically anchored SnS2 nanosheets on self-supporting YSZ nanofibers designed with biomimetic branch-leaf structure. The fabricated sensor demonstrates a notable response of 9.15 towards 5 ppm NO2 at 120 °C, and features rapid response/recovery times of 295/450 s. The improved performance of the gas sensor can be ascribed to the efficient gas transmission and diffusion, high surface area and abundant edge sites, facilitated by the unique structural configuration. This study may lay the groundwork for further development of composite nanofibers based gas sensors.
