Abstract

From time immemorial, there have been associations and unions in various fields of human endeavour. The aims of the association or union in most cases include but are not limited to the regulation of conduct and affairs of its member. In the same vein, employers of labour do formassociations and unions for the purpose of protecting their various interests in the relationship with their employees who usually, like their employers do form associations and unions for the purpose of protecting their interests under their various contracts of employment. This is the basis of the establishment and formation of trade unions.
