Abstract
The oxygen evolution reaction (OER) is a crucial process in water splitting for renewable energy generation, and the development of cost-effective electrocatalysts is essential for addressing global energy challenges. In this study, we synthesized ZIF67@MIL-88 using a self-assembly method with ZIF-67 as the precursor, followed by aging. The incorporation of iron-based (MIL-88) greatly increased the surface morphology and porous nature of the catalytic material. Additionally, urchin-like CoNi@FeNi-LDHs were prepared by etching ZIF67@MIL-88 with layered double hydroxides (LDHs). LDHs possess a unique two-dimensional sheet structure and corrosion resistance. By achieving interlayer anion exchange through substitution with metal cations at high temperatures, efficient OER catalytic activity was obtained. This study presents the latest advancements in the rational design of structurally unique and robustly catalytic CoNi@FeNi-LDHs composite materials using a synergistic strategy.
