Abstract

In recent years, due to the increasing carbon emissions from human activities, the challenges of global climate change such as the greenhouse effect, sea level rise, and extreme weather events have become increasingly severe. Vigorously developing clean energy, reducing carbon emissions, and building a green low-carbon development structure have become the urgent tasks and needs of many countries. Tidal energy, as a green, clean and pollution-free energy, is abundant in many coastal countries. The construction of tidal power stations using tidal energy to generate electricity, on one hand, can provide huge energy benefits, on the other hand, it can effectively promote the implementation of green and low-carbon strategies, with important influence on social reform, development and stability. Therefore, tidal energy is an important part of clean power generation energy. Based on this, through the investigation of many achievements in the development and utilization of tidal energy, the current situation of tidal energy development is deeply analyzed, and the relevant experience of tidal energy utilization is summarized. This paper starts from the formation principle, distribution, characteristics, utilization, development status and problems of tidal energy. The mechanism of tidal energy and the structural form of tidal power station are systematically explained, and the characteristics of using tidal energy to generate electricity in different regions are introduced. Through the study on the latest technology application of relevant experts and scholars in the field, and combined with the construction process and related construction experience of different tidal power stations in different countries, improvement measure are put forward for the development and utilization of tidal energy. It is hoped that this paper can provide reference for the further popularization and sustainable development of tidal energy power generation technology.
