Abstract

This paper examines the civil liability of corporations in Australia and in other jurisdictions for international conduct which violates human rights. This encompasses a consideration of procedural mechanisms for obtaining civil remedies in Australia for violations of human rights by Australian corporations and related entities for human rights abuses and environmental damage in other jurisdictions. Comparative reference is made to developments in United States, Canadian and English law.
