Abstract
This work aims to investigate the erosion-corrosion behavior of zinc coating AISI 420 stainless steel in liquid-solid two-phase flow impingement. The results show that the corrosion resistance of Zn coating 420SS specimen decreases with increasing erosion-corrosion time. Both the coating damage index and coating delamination index increase with increasing erosion-corrosion time. The synergy dominates the progress of weight loss with more than 60% weight loss caused by the synergetic effect in the solid-liquid two phase flow with different pH value. Zn coating layer could be damaged by the impacting of solid-liquid two phase flow therefore the corrosion could be accelerated due to the penetration of fluid and oxygen.
