Abstract

This article examines the transformation of the translation profession in the context of contemporary challenges and opportunities. It considers the impact of globalisation and technological progress, the changing market demands and the necessary skills of translators. Particular attention is paid to the role of digital technologies and their impact on the profession. Modern technological changes dictate new conditions for the translation profession and create certain challenges. Translators face the challenges of global localisation, including cultural differences and contextual nuances. A translator today is a multifunctional professional with a wide range of skills. Developing professional skills, achieving expertise in specialised areas and updating knowledge are key to a successful career as a translator. Advances in technology are bringing changes to the profession, while opening up new opportunities to develop and improve the quality of translation. Only translators who are adaptive and receptive to new technologies and requirements will succeed in today's industry.
