Abstract

This short paper aims at acting as an exploratory reflection on academic freedom by establishing a link with democracy and the rule of law, as one of the relevant features to assess the state of a democratic system. This approach departs from acknowledging the values April’s Portuguese Revolution has proclaimed to equate, before nowadays challenges, if they can persist in the future.
