Abstract

As the core of ancient Chinese philosophy and prediction system, Yijing is a comprehensive cosmological algebra that integrates concepts such as Yin and Yang, and the generation and restraint of the five elements. It provides a theoretical foundation and symbolicmathematical logic for the prediction of the Six-Yao. Based on the theory of the Yijing, the prediction of the Six-Yao combines hexagrams and line symbols, materializing into practical prediction methods through the principles of the generation and restraint of the five elements and the changes in movement and stillness. This method further develops into a concrete and practical divination system, forming a refined prediction model that analyzes the auspiciousness, misfortune, and fortune of individuals or specific events. Starting from the formation and development of the Yijing, this article explores its relationship with the prediction of the Six-Yao, analyzes the theoretical basis and practical operation of the prediction of the Six-Yao, clarifies the combination path of the philosophy of the Yijing and the prediction of the Six-Yao in reality, and summarizes the deep logic of their complementary relationship.
